During Crisis, Life Goes OnPublished April 7, 2020
As more people die each day from COVID-19, it can feel like that’s all that’s happening in the world. Being homebound makes it feel as if all other activity has ceased. But life goes on, the good and the bad. It’s not all about the coronavirus.
People still have things to celebrate, like holidays, birthdays and anniversaries, that the coronavirus can’t prevent from happening. We just need to celebrate in a more subdued fashion right now.
At the other end of the spectrum, people continue to die each day from causes other than the coronavirus. To grieving loved ones, it hurts just as much.
Years from now, we’ll remember these events as having happened during the pandemic. But that’s the only connection. Even in times of global crisis, life goes on.
